“She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry” film screening and panel
March 8, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
In honor of International Women’s Day, Music Box Films will present a special private event featuring a screening of the critically acclaimed documentary, “She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry“, followed by a panel discussion on women’s rights issues, past and present. The panel will be moderated by Lizz Winstead, co-founder of Lady Parts Justice, and the event is co-presented by New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT). The event’s media sponsor is The Untitled Magazine.
“She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry” resurrects the buried history of the outrageous, often brilliant women who founded the modern women’s movement from 1966 to 1971. Artfully combining dramatizations, performance and archival imagery, this award-winning documentary by Mary Dore recounts the stories of women who fought for their own equality and in the process created a worldwide revolution.
An insightful panel discussion will commence immediately following the screening to discuss gender equality and issues women continue to face today. The panel features a diverse group of women through the generation spectrum meeting together for one night in support of women’s rights.
