International Day of the Girl Concert ft. Prolyphic and Sarah Lawson

Rapper Prolyphic lends his voice to the campaign to end gender-based violence against the world’s girls in a FREE concert sponsored by Women Thrive Worldwide.

Prolyphic will be joined by local performance poet Sarah Lawson, women’s rights activists, and others for this special concert.
- Saturday, October 11 is International Day of the Girl. This year’s theme is Empowering Adolescent Girls: Ending the Cycle of Violence.
- Among girls ages 15 to 19, almost one-fourth said they had been the victims of “some form of physical violence since age 15.” One in 10 girls younger than 19 said they had experienced “forced intercourse or other forced sexual acts at some point in their lives.” (Unicef)
- Girls who experience gender-based violence early in life are at greater risk of being abused or assaulted later in life.
- Women Thrive Worldwide works to educate lawmakers, promote public education, and train young leaders about the urgent need for action to reduce and improve response to violence against the world’s girls.
